Local History Week 

This year’s Local History Week will take place during the week of the Spring Bank Holiday / school half term. The theme this year is “Norman Histories”, and the Library will be open during our normal hours, with an exhibition loosely relating to this topic!

Heritage Open Day

Heritage Open Day will take place on Saturday 12 September 2026 with an exhibition about “Everyday Lives”. The Library will be open from 10am to 4pm. 

Plume Lecture

This year’s Plume Lecture guest will be Simon Heffer, Baron Blackwater, who will be interviewed on his interesting and varied career as a journalist, political commentator, and historian. Friday 11 September at 7pm (doors open at 6.30), at the United Reformed Church, Market Hill. Free entry; donations appreciated.
